Introduction
It is often the case that during our initial discussions with customers it
becomes apparent many do not understand their legal duties as employers.
Furthermore many organisations find it difficult to divert time to Health and Safety issues.
Health and Safety Consultancy is an expanding part of our business as customers discover the benefits of advice specific to their own needs and circumstances. This can be combined with courses held outside of normal working hours to suit organisations where employees work evenings or shifts.
Here are some ways we can help.
New Business Start-Up
If
you are a new business starting up the prospect of writing a health and safety
policy and undertaking risk assessments can be a daunting one. We offer
practical support and guidance to help you comply with your statutory duties and
allow organisations to do as much or little for themselves as they wish.
Acorn Health and Safety can simply signpost you to sources of information, such
as the literature produced by the Health and Safety Executive (for this there
would be no charge).
Alternatively you may appreciate support in ensuring your business is both
safe and legal, for example: -
- Understanding you legal responsibilities
- Writing a safety policy
- Undertaking risk assessments
- Training your staff
- Considering issues such as fire and the provision of first aid equipment
- Developing systems for reporting accidents
Existing businesses
If
you have been trading for a while and investing considerable time and effort in
developing your business then perhaps you feel it's time to review your Health
and Safety policies or have come across new situations. e.g.
- Your policies may need to be reviewed or updated
- You may like your existing systems to be audited and reviewed
- You may have an accident that needs investigating
- Legislation may have changed or been updated
- Further training needs may have been identified
Whatever you need, you may like to give us call.

Specialist Consultancy
Through our network of qualified and experienced consultants we are able to
offer specialist guidance on a broad range of topics and will endeavour to
support your organisation in complying with its statutory duties, such as risk

Should we not be in a position to assist it would be unusual if we cannot put
you in contact with someone who can.
