Does your Ipad or Tablet cause you back and neck pain?

Doctor, I’ve got iPad shoulder!

Health Problems

The Ipad is portability and user friendly however owning one might present a hidden health problem.

Researchers have identified a condition they are calling ‘iPad neck’, in which users develop a stiff neck and shoulders.

A test has taken place at Harvard University comparing the Ipads discomfort along side other Tablets and Study leader Dr Jack Dennerlein has said,
“people flexed their necks more when using media tablets compared to typical desktop computers” and that “There may be more of a concern for the development of neck and shoulder discomfort”.

The Results

Researchers felt that the “heads and necks of the users were bent more in general when using the tablets than has been reported for desktop or notebook computing and that only when the tablets were used in the Table-Movie configuration, where the devices were set at their steepest case angle setting and at the greatest horizontal and vertical position, did posture approach neutral.”
