We are very proud to say we have once again achieved our SMAS Worksafe Accreditation (SSIP approved) for another year.

SMAS Worksafe is a proud member of the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) scheme and one of the UK’s leading providers of health and safety assessments. It’s all about helping businesses manage Health & Safety properly. They concentrate on developing the right documentation to help you gain industry-recognised accreditations to meet regulatory requirements.

What is SSIP?
As part of the construction procurement process, some larger companies and organisation such as Local Authorities require their subcontractors to have been assessed and accredited by a member of the SSIP scheme.  This includes organisations such as CHAS, exor, Constructionline, smas, SafeContractor, alTius and Acclaim although there are many others.

This helps both buyers and you to reduce the paperwork and bureaucracy involved in assessing you as competent to carry out works on their behalf. We support many companies apply to and pass a PQQ style audits with one of these schemes. Without our support this can be time consuming, frustrating and may result in a delay of getting on site, or even loss of a contract due to the difficulties in negotiating the requirements of some schemes.

SSIP assessments are all judged on core criteria approved by HSE. The trades we have been assessed against are: Health and Safety Consultants & CDM Duty Holder. SMAS Worksafe is a leading H&S assessment provider and SSIP registered Member Scheme. The Scheme assesses thousands of contractors annually according to the SSIP core criteria and are audited on a yearly basis to ensure a consistent standard is being delivered. We are also proud to say via our consultancy service we support businesses in gaining their SSIP accreditations (including SMAS).
